Having attended and helped at so many weddings over the years I came to realise that I had a natural ability and love of planning and organising such personal events. The opportunity to consider every little detail in depth and understand the story that unfolds through a carefully planned event only went to emphasise this ability.
My professional background is in corporate event management and marketing, and a diploma from the UK Alliance of Wedding Planners. This has resulted in the development of particularly strong project management, interpersonal and negotiation skills in addition to the ability to develop longstanding client relationships. I combine these with a sense of fun, ideas, integrity and know how.
My aim is to exceed your expectations, not your budget.
How I work
Initially I will be listening to and understanding your own ideas and aspirations so that I can gain a sense of what you are expecting on this, the biggest day of your life. I’ll be concentrating on the approach you would like to see taken so as to enable you to relax and enjoy the whole of the process, both on the day and all the time leading up to it. Your visions for the day, particular wishes and instructions will be my starting point from which the legwork and shaping of style and theme will develop incorporating the creative touches which will go towards ensuring that your day is a true refelection of you as a couple I will be offering you my knowledge, skills and experience and will be encouraging you to make use of these as a sounding board whilst I navigate you in a relaxed and constructive way through the whole planning process.
Inevitably you will, from time to time, be needing advice and support. My experience, skills and resourcefulness are all there to provide this. Whilst I will undoubtedly be playing a major part in the development of your plans, all decisions are ultimately yours – I never lose sight of the fact that this is YOUR day, not mine.
A combination of skills is involved in the planning of any event, not least of which is good communication. My ideas, maybe, but your decisions! For this to work in practice I need to keep you fully informed throughout, agree issues as they arise and talk through options and alternatives. This is why keeping you updated, seeking your responses to ideas and plans by e-mail or however you chose is essential.
